Castle House, Tunbridge Wells
Castle House, located in central Tunbridge Wells, is a purpose-built block comprising of 6 apartments and 3 houses. After losing faith in their previous agent, the Board of Directors approached Oakfield in 2023 seeking a change of management. Since our time as managing agents, we have built a positive relationship with the Board, which is made up of four directors.
Historically the building was managed by a Sole Freeholder before the Freehold was purchased by all the leaseholders, which led them to explore the change in managing agent. Since our time as managing agents, we have built a positive relationship with the Board, which is made up of four directors.
During the course of the year, and as part of our fully managed service, we have prioritised arranging for historic works to be carried out to the external areas of the building. These works included the decoration of the front bin store area and the boundary masonry wall.
The Management Company are now concentrating on larger works that need to be completed externally, such as the repainting of the windows. As this will involve scaffolding, it is likely to result in Section 20 Consultation being required. Oakfield will assist in the project by issuing the Section 20 notices, obtaining and presenting the tenders to the Board of Directors, and instructing the works to start.
After a successful year of managing Castle House, Oakfield are looking forward to the future and continuing to build a positive relationship with both the Board and the Leaseholders.
